Know God’s Word
We absolutely mean the written and inspired Word of God – the Bible. We also mean the Living Word, Jesus Christ. We want our children to study the written Word with their mind so that they can know and have relationship with the Living Word here and now.
Apply God’s Word
We believe that the purpose of studying the Bible is not for information, but for transformation. Transformation that can be seen in actions but also transformation that is more covert too. We want attitudes to be shifted, identity to be embraced, and beliefs to be rooted in Truth. Then our actions follow.
While we wait for the coming of the Word
We believe that Christ is coming again because He said He would! And we want our children and your children to know it and to hope for it. Whether He comes in our children’s lifetime or after, we want our kids to be hopeful and living on mission.
Your struggle to teach the Bible to your children ends today.
The question asked was, what are your biggest fears you have about parenting your kids who are ten years old and older? Think about that for a moment. How would you answer?
My answer is that my children would turn from everything we have taught them. The lies and lure of culture are strong. Am I equipping my children to face them? The truth is that we cannot control the choices that our children make as they mature.
Heartbreak could very well be in our future. However, this does not mean that we just give up and let our children fend for themselves when it comes to shaping their worldview and applying wisdom in their lives.
As their parents, we are called to bring them up in the instruction of the Lord. That is exactly what we seek to do through the EVENT Method. The EVENT Method is a five-stage introductory process to inductive Bible study. E is for Everybody Read, V is for Verifiable Facts, E is for Explore, N is for Now What?, and T is for Talk to God.

I created the EVENT method because I wanted my children to delight in God’s Word. I wanted them to be equipped for anything the world threw at them. If they feel ill-equipped then I want them to know right where to turn. If they are called to be an Esther or a Daniel, can they step into that role as easily as possible because they know who they are in Christ and Whose they are? Last, I want them to be able to walk in the abundant life that Christ has for them now and point others to Him.
