Two summers ago I was prepping a study in Ruth for Two summers ago I was prepping a study in Ruth for a group of high school girls to go through in a discipleship program. That study became God’s Loyal Love: A Nine Week Study in Ruth for Teen Girls and is now available as an eBook today! A few verses I’m meditating on right now are Psa A few verses I’m meditating on right now are Psalm 92:1-2 and 4. They say: 1. It is good to give thanks to the Lord And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; 2. To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning And Your faithfulness by night, 4. For You, O Lord, have made me glad by what You have done, I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands. When I read this I’m reminded about how good it is to start the day with acknowledging the Lord and end the day in the same way.  I can give thanks to the Lord for a new day and ask that I abide in Him throughout the circumstances that come my way. I can also sing His praises at night because He has been faithful. Maybe things haven’t gone how I hoped, but I know He is still with me.  He is worthy of praise. In the midst of my time and schedule assessment I In the midst of my time and schedule assessment I received some good heart checks. 💙 Am I focused on control or honest assessment? 💙 Am I relying on the Lord to be my refreshment or falling into temporary coping mechanisms? 💙 Am I falling into the trap of thinking my schedule has to be free from any stress whatsoever in order to be at rest and peace? I'm so grateful the Lord brings along timely reminders and messages. He is faithful and really does give us wisdom when we ask Him (James 1:5). As a mom juggling all the things too, I can assure As a mom juggling all the things too, I can assure you that a time audit was just what I needed to understand exactly where my time has been going. Now that I know where my time is going, I can pray about what my priorities are and how to schedule them. I can intentionally let go of some things that aren’t bad, but aren’t what I should be focusing on right now. The pictures in my post are all of my brain dump on a scratch piece of paper, but I’ve made a much more organized audit sheet that you can use for yourself. In 2021, I sought to find a way to teach my kids h In 2021, I sought to find a way to teach my kids how to read the Bible verse by verse and go through the three main phases of inductive Bible study. I wanted it to be a conversational tool and something we could easily incorporate in our morning routine. It is now known as the EVENT Method.  What started out as a way to disciple my kids, grew into a Bible study used with the high school girls at my church, now is here in my hands, and soon will go out to others. It’s my prayer that this study is used as a stepping stone to biblical literacy and then transformation for the next generation as they engage with Scripture. As it became more and more clear I needed to reassess my schedule, a few reminders made their way to me and the message was loud and clear: I need to be careful with my time. This is not a new lesson for me, it's just hitting different now that two out of three of my kids are in the tween and teen stage.
