It's *unreal* how good my hubby is to me. For abo It's *unreal* how good my hubby is to me. For about two weeks he left these fun, encouraging notes all around my usual haunts. By my books. In my dresser. Random drawers I open throughout the day. Such an easy way to build up those you love and is not relegated only to Valentine's day! The message starts out, "It's unreal....." and then fill it in with something that will build up those you love. 📚"It's unreal how helpful you are when you read a book to your little brother." 🏀"It's unreal how good you are getting at basketball. Your hard work is paying off. " If you want something Valentine's themed, I've got some free printables I'll keep in my bio for a bit. Or send me a DM! We found this large bag of mixed chocolate at Costco in the fall, and now our Costco has a different flavor. Celebrating because I was notified that my publish Celebrating because I was notified that my publisher nominated my Bible study, God's Loyal Love, for the Selah awards! The Selah awards recognize excellence in Christian publishing and I'm honored to be among so many great authors and their works.  This was an unexpected and fun surprise that leaves me full of gratitude to Him and to Redemption Press for their unending support for the writing we do.

Then factor in what the year has held- Gain. Loss. Celebration. Grief. Hard in the day to day and hope for the future. I don't know what your times of reflection will hold. I don't know what will come up in the quiet moments. Praying that you're able to hope through it all. To praise through it all. To worship Him through it all. Praying this for me too. …it's all in His power!  Sometimes I wish the pro …it's all in His power!  Sometimes I wish the process of putting off the old man and putting on the new was as easy as swapping shirts but that has not been my experience.  For a good while I used to strive by my own power thinking I could self-discipline and will power my way to holiness.  Then I discovered it's really in the quiet surrender to His Spirit, the daily discipline of reading His Word, and meeting with others that transformation started to happen.  In Colossians 3, Paul gives instructions on what to put off and what to put on. I think we find the how in verses 15-17.  They say,  “15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.  16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness to in your hearts to God.  17 Whatever you do in Word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.” There is a role we have in the putting off and putting on and it is one of letting His peace rule in our hearts and letting His Word dwell within us. As we yield to His Spirit and walk in a manner worthy of Him, we begin to look like Him more and more. It's according to His power-not ourselves. 🙌So much to praise God for! Don't you love hearing 🙌So much to praise God for! Don't you love hearing these teens lift their voices and hearts up to Him? For the past nine weeks we studied Colossians in our Wednesday night women's study and our Sunday night teen discipleship time. For many this was the first time they studied the Bible inductively through the EVENT Method and the first time through Colossians. It was amazing hearing about what these women and teens were learning from God's Word. And I always am in awe when we give people the tools to study God's Word on their own, how their natural curiosity takes over and their face lights up when they share what they've learned.  I'm so thankful I got to take this journey with them and learn alongside them. 🩵🧡🩵 ✨️Inductive Bible study is my passion and my hope is to make it as delightful and approachable as possible. Started my day reading about prayer in the book of Started my day reading about prayer in the book of Colossians and it hasn't stopped yet. It struck me how Epiphras is described as laboring earnestly for the Colossians in prayer. The Greek word for the phrase "laboring earnestly" is agonizomai. The root means to struggle or strive as if in an athletic contest or warfare. Or to contend with an adversary. That is how Epiphras is praying for His brothers and sisters in Christ. Here's the recap: Ingredients: Store bought donut Here's the recap: Ingredients: Store bought donut holes Brown melting wafers  Fall sprinkles Pretzel sticks (snapped in half) Melt the wafers according to the package directions.  Dip top part of donut in melted chocolate Dip that same part in the sprinkles Stick one of the pretzel stick halves in the top center It's such a great treat to make when you want to spend time with your kids in the kitchen but you may not be able to commit an hour or so. We called it "the big hole" I heard it said it's We called it "the big hole" I heard it said it's where they dug a freeway from. I can neither confirm nor deny that. All I know is it was big. It seemed miles in circumstance but I was also 12ish so maybe it all seemed big at that point. And down she went....carried away on her bike. It really is a great visual of how we can easily be carried away-held captive-by falsehoods. The answer is to guard your heart and mind with the Word. This is exactly what my friend told me to do when I get stuck on a chunk of Scripture. Read above, read below. Look for repeated words and phrases. Look for what you know for certain about the audience or group being spoken of. And if all else fails call in a life-line in the form of someone who can help you think. This is exactly what the Body of Christ is for! To help each other correctly handle His Word. We serve a God who wants to be known and can be known.
